Standing out from the in-crowd, Crazy Bear Beaconsfield makes other boutique hotels almost fade into insignificance. Its inimitable design cleverly entwines with conceptual lighting to create unexpected yet welcome spaces.
The hotel’s eccentricities bring enchantment to the world of luxury. Dripping chandeliers shimmer amidst a sea of gold and black, leather-clad walls – you can’t ignore the sex appeal of the burlesque-like interiors that have given this adult only hotel its distinctive style.
It’s hard to believe that Crazy Bear Beaconsfield was once a 15th century coaching inn, although glimpses of exposed brickwork and beamed ceilings give us an inkling of its past. The hotel goes beyond cutting edge by adding a certain je ne sais quoi that you won’t find anywhere else.
Crazy Bear isn’t short of cool places to eat and drink. The bar has a theatrical backdrop that wouldn’t look out of place at a masquerade ball, where you can enjoy cocktails as well as small plates. Tucked into the rafters of the building, a slinky Thai Restaurant offers an alternative dining experience with a menu of contemporary, oriental dishes.
There is also a rather English Restaurant where studded leather booths fraternise with polished wooden tables – a stylish setting for sampling afternoon tea, chargrilled meats, fresh seafood and fish dishes.
Reminiscent of North Africa and shrouded in palm trees, The Moroccan Lounge and Terrace is an unexpected and refreshing oasis with private swimming pool and Jacuzzi – a stark contrast against the sultry interior.
The bedrooms here really are something else and provide pure escapism. In-keeping with the flamboyant and sensual design seen throughout the rest of the hotel, each of the rooms is full of glamour. Elaborate beds, huge copper baths (some which fill from the ceiling), marble wet rooms and leather floors take the hotel to extraordinary levels.
Make the most of your stay with the fabulous facilities at Crazy Bear Beaconsfield, all designed to make your experience even more unforgettable.
Food and Drink
Aimed to satisfy all tastes, the restaurants and bar offer unique experiences. The English Restaurant opens throughout the day and evening for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Tuck into tasty meats cooked on the chargrill, try the scallop carpaccio from the Raw Bar or stick with a more traditional Sunday lunch.
The Thai Restaurant has an elegant setting with vaulted beamed ceiling and ornate chandeliers. For those who love to share, there is a great choice of classic and vegetarian plates. If the baked venison puff doesn’t tempt your taste buds, leave those for your partner and go for the salt and pepper baby squid instead. If sharing isn’t your thing, the a la carte and express menus could be more up your street.
Just when you think you’ve discovered all the surprises at Crazy Bear Beaconsfield, the Terrace and Moroccan Lounge come into sight. This outdoor space with swimming pool, Jacuzzi and palm trees has a real Moroccan feel. After taking a dip in the pool, treat yourself to an authentic Thai massage with hot oils.
