Stood on the banks of the River Skell close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey, Grantley Hall in Ripon, Yorkshire, has been restored back to its resplendent glory. The Grade II Listed building, which was once a private country house dating back to the 17th century, has played host to royalty and public figures throughout the decades.

As well as laying claim to such an incredible setting, the hotel boasts 47 rooms and suites, each designed to marry modern elegance with the building’s rich heritage. The rooms can be found in either the original Old Hall or the newly built Fountains Wing and offer uninterrupted views of the grounds and river.

Designed to take you on a unique spa journey with treatments and therapies that are personalised to suit you, Grantley Hall Spa is the perfect oasis of calm. Guests are also invited to use the indoor swimming pool, indoor to outdoor vitality pool and thermal experiences, which include a steam room, sauna and snow room. There is also a relaxation area and outdoor terrace.

Accessed from the rooftop courtyard in the Fountains Wing, the Superior Suites boast large separate seating areas as well as a dining space. The bathrooms are clad in Italian marble and offer private Klafs steam rooms.
No doubt you will feel like royalty when you stay in this suite, which is situated in the Hall with views of the gardens, river and fountain. The walk-in shower, roll-top bath and mezzanine bedroom make this the ideal suite for a romantic couple’s escape. The Royal Suite also offers 100 square metres of living and sleeping space.
This magnificent Suite is set in the Fountain Wing. Accessed from the rooftop courtyard you enter into your own personal hallway complete with separate washroom. From the hallway you will step into a large lounge with seating and dining area facing south, looking over the gardens and River Skell. The bedroom, also facing south, has a seating area and walk-in wardrobe, the stunning views are complemented with a baby grand piano. The bathroom has a Klafs steam room and shower, large bath and double vanity unit. Size is 128 square metres.
