A Luxury Spa Break at Moddershall Oaks

2nd September 2014

With the summer season coming to an end, I feel like weddings, garden parties and social gatherings galore have taken over my life. So the moment I had the opportunity to take a spa break at the beautiful Moddershall Oaks, I jumped at the chance. A night away, just myself and my partner, was exactly what I needed!

With the sun shining, our journey took us through the beautiful village of Moddershall, which is definitely worth exploring if you have time. As we reached Moddershall Oaks, we couldn’t help but notice just how idyllic this stunning country house is, surrounded by countryside and of course the lake. Before I even got out of the car, I could feel myself beginning to unwind.

On arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing fruit juice in the spa deli. After finishing our drinks, we were given a tour of the spa and then shown to our room. Our bedroom was beautiful, the interior had a Moroccan feel, and with low key lighting it felt really peaceful and serene. It was also full of modern gadgets which rather impressed my partner!

With no time to lose, we pulled on our fluffy robes and headed to the inside pool to do a few lengths. After what we felt was enough exercise for one day, we took our time relaxing in the many different spa areas that are on offer.

Wanting to enjoy the last of the evening’s sun, we made our way to the new outdoor courtyard. Relaxing on the loungers in the sun was pure bliss. At the heart of the outdoor courtyard is the heated vitality pool, relaxing in this area just feels so luxurious. Although we had lovely weather, the hotel is equally equipped for colder weather too, with blankets on hand as well as the striking open fire.

During the stay I was also booked in for a medium and stress relieving massage. On arriving for my treatment, I was welcomed by my therapist who tended to my every need. Whilst I wished it could have lasted forever, once she had finished I felt so calm and relaxed.

It’s amazing what an afternoon of relaxation does to you; by tea time we were ready to eat! Arriving at the bar, we were greeted by Ivan, with a big smile. The restaurant and bar area has a real cosy feel, the service is faultless and attentive, and there is a tranquil atmosphere. After what I can only describe as one of the best meals I have had in a long time, feeling full and content, we headed back to our rooms where we had the most peaceful night’s sleep in a long time.

The only down side to our stay was leaving the next morning, as we would have loved to do the whole stay again!
