Stood on the banks of the River Skell close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey, Grantley Hall in Ripon, Yorkshire, has been restored back to its resplendent glory. The Grade II Listed building, which was once a private country house dating back to the 17th century, has played host to royalty and public figures throughout the decades.
The bubbling river weaves among acres of leafy parkland and immaculately-kept gardens, where you are greeted by the magnificent façade of the Hall.
It’s no wonder the unparalleled beauty of Grantley Hall has been captured by so many artists, including LS Lowry.
As well as laying claim to such an incredible setting, the hotel boasts 47 rooms and suites, each designed to marry modern elegance with the building’s rich heritage. The rooms can be found in either the original Old Hall or the newly built Fountains Wing and offer uninterrupted views of the grounds and river.
