Dimpsey Shepherd’s Huts
Dating back to the Domesday Book, the Blackdown Hills roll along the border of Dorset and Somerset and have been an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1991.
Drawing from their natural surroundings, these cosy Blackdown luxury glamping Shepherd’s Huts do rustic-chic in style. Owners, Andrew and Emma have ensured every detail has been taken care of, from the woollen blankets draped across the beds to the twinkling fairy lights and selection of board games perfect for a cosy night snuggled up by the log burner.
Luxury Glamping in Somerset
On arrival, you’re welcomed with a tea tray and home-baked treats to help you settle in. You can also request a vintage picnic basket filled with fresh goodies to take on your walks. It’s these little homely touches that make Dimpsey glamping extra special.
We love the double bed in Hither Hut that pulls down from the wall to give you extra space. And in the morning, you can wake to uninterrupted countryside views that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Cosy and perfectly formed, each shepherd’s hut has everything you need to cater for yourself, so even if you don’t want to venture out, you can rustle up something to eat. You might want to try your hand at making your own pizza and cooking it in the wood-fired garden oven. Alternatively, the owners will cook up something delicious for you on request.
Facilities
Shepherd’s Huts with Hot Tub
Dimpsey Hither Shepherd’s Hut
Being 18 feet in length, Dimpsey Hither Shepherd’s Hut with hot tub comes equipped with a foldaway double bed, separate seating area, small kitchen, toilet and shower.
The dining area is perfect for two but the oak table and sheepskin-strewn benches can seat up to four guests. In the kitchen, you’ll find a fridge, a Belfast sink and gas hob. Outside, you have the addition of a sheltered kitchen with a wood-fired oven and washing up area. You can help yourself to the herbs and vegetables homegrown outside the hut.
In the evening, the shepherd’s hut hot tub beckons you to enjoy a spot of romance and star gazing.
Dimpsey Yonder Shepherd’s Hut
Even more indulgent than Hither, Yonder takes luxury glamping in Somerset to another level. Hiding in a leafy copse, Yonder has a fairytale setting where you might catch a glimpse of wild deer and other wildlife.
Comprising two huts interlinked by an internal walkway, Yonder Hut boasts separate rooms with kitchen, dining area, seating area and bathroom. The bedroom stands alone with a freestanding bed and luxurious copper bath.
