Huge ornate ceilings tower above wood panelling, flagstone floors and mullion windows, while antique tapestries hang from the walls. Contemporary furnishings don’t look out of place with the historic backdrop and add to the hotel’s individual charm. The grand lounges are filled with comfy armchairs and sofas where you can relax by the fire, read the morning papers or enjoy an aperitif in the most grand surroundings.

From the moment you arrive, you are swept into a world of tranquility and the complimentary valet service ensures you are looked after. When you reach your room, you might be able to expect a hand carved four poster bed, freestanding bath or gorgeous view. Whatever the unique features of your room, you are guaranteed a heavenly stay.
