How to Create a Spa Pamper Day at Home

15th February 2019

So you’re in desperate need of some relaxation and pampering but your budget won’t quite stretch this month to a luxury spa break. Fear not, for we have some great tips for how to create a spa pamper day at home, just perfect for cocooning.

Set the Mood

First thing’s first, switch off any phones so that for the next few hours you won’t be interrupted. Light some scented candles, play some soft music and dim the lights to help you relax and really get into the mood. Pour yourself some water.

Things you’ll need:

Candles

Relaxation music

Glass of water

Cleanse

Remove all traces of makeup then run yourself a warm bath and exfoliate and cleanse thoroughly. For a little extra indulgence, add a few drops of scented bath oil into the water. Take some time to utterly relax and treat your hair at the same time using a decent repair treatment. For silky smooth skin, don’t forget to moisturise your skin once you are out of the bath.

Things you’ll need:

Scented bath oil

Bathrobe

Towels

Hair repair treatment

Exfoliating mitts

Moisturiser

Facial

There is nothing more invigorating than having a facial and really stripping back to nature. Once you have made sure there are no traces of dirt or make up, gently steam your face to cleanse the pores. Fill a bowl with hot water and add some lavender oil. Using a towel to cover your head, put your face over the bowl for approximately five minutes. Once finished, make sure you splash your face with cool water to close the pores.

Apply a face mask and lie down somewhere comfortable until you are required to rinse it off. Remove the mask using warm water then apply a good moisturiser to hydrate and soften the skin.

Things you’ll need:

Make up remover

Bowl of hot water

Towel

Lavender oil

Face mask

Moisturiser

Massage

OK, so unless you have someone to hand to step in at this point, you will need to do this yourself. Rub a small amount of scented oil into your hands to not only make yourself smell heavenly, but also to nourish your skin. Starting at your feet, gently massage the oil in using circular, upward movements towards your heart. Work your way up the body massaging the parts you can reach comfortably. Have plenty of large towels on hand to cover your body and keep warm.

In between all this pampering make sure you are keeping hydrated by drinking plenty of water. If you start to feel a bit peckish, treat yourself to a healthy salad, fruit or snack on some seeds to keep the hunger at bay.

Things you’ll need:

Scented massage oil

Towels

Glass of water

Healthy snacks

Manicure and Pedicure

Before you start, gather everything you need so that you have ample time to let your nail polish dry. Remove all traces of old nail varnish. If needed, trim your nails with clippers, file and buffer before removing cuticles. Massage your hands and feet with moisturising cream. Apply a base coat of nail polish then carefully apply your nail varnish. Use a toe separator to prevent smudging. Let the nail varnish dry fully before applying a second coat.

Now all that’s left to do is relax and enjoy feeling like a million dollars.

Things you’ll need:

Nail polish remover

Cotton wool

Cuticle remover

Nail clippers

Nail file and buffer

Hand cream

Base coat polish

Nail varnish

Toe separator
