Andrew Wildsmith to Open New Hotel in Grasmere

Owner of Hipping Hall in Kirkby Lonsdale, Andrew Wildsmith is set to open a new hotel in the summer of 2015. Previously a hostel for walkers, Forest Side will be transformed into a luxury lakeside hotel following a multi million pound refurbishment.

The Victorian building has an unmistakeable character, which will add to the charm of the 21 bedroom hotel. With sublime scenery and beautiful interiors, Forest Side will have a truly romantic ambience.

The hostel will undergo immense restorations that are sympathetic to its original state, retaining as many of its traditional features as possible, such as fireplaces and wood panelling. Forest Side will also have a top class restaurant where guests can watch the theatrics of the kitchen as their food is prepared. The new Kitchen Garden will provide much of the produce used in the dishes.

Hipping Hall will also see some changes this year, with ten new bedrooms in the pipeline.

” I heard about this place from a friend who raved about it, so I thought I would treat the missus to a weekend away. The food was excellent, the staff were polite and the room – well the wife loved it. A decent place to go for a romantic couple of days away.”
