Lucknam Park’s brand new recipe for success!
10th December 2012
Newly opened and full of zest, Lucknam Park’s new cookery school is a tasty addition to the luxury hotel’s fabulous estate.
Whether you are a complete novice or fancy yourself as a culinary whizz, the cookery school provides the ideal opportunity to learn new techniques. Lucknam Park already has a reputation for excellent dining, with a growing collection of prestigious awards such as a Michelin star for Executive Chef, Hywel Jones, and National Chef of the Year Award 2010 for the cookery school’s Head Chef, Hrishikesh Desai. Under such accomplished tutelage, every participant at the cookery school is sure to flourish.
Nestled perfectly within the impressive 500 acre estate of the luxury country house hotel, the cookery school is held in a small house within walking distance of the hotel. Bespoke kitchen craftsman, Stephen Graver, has worked his inimitable magic in the kitchen, complementing the latest appliances from Fhiaba and ATAG.
Hrishikesh Desai’s passion for food comes from the home cooking of his childhood and his journeys around India. Fresh ingredients and their nutritional value are very much at the centre of Desai’s courses, using produce grown in Lucknam Park’s own garden and the cookery school’s herb garden as frequently as possible. A well planned range of 24 courses is available, from pasta making to traditional British cookery, street food of India and Michelin star cooking at home.
With the cookery school having opened its doors only recently in November 2012, the first few courses have been an immediate success with satisfied (and rather full) customers enjoying a Christmas Baking course, and a Foodie Christmas Gifts course giving that much needed inspiration for presents for the big day. The cookery school is now in full festive flow, having confessed to feeling very Christmassy back in November, and is ready and waiting to welcome fellow foodies.
