Resembling a scene from a romantic novel, Hever Castle in Kent is 13th century castle, once home to Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII’s second wife.

The castle is steeped in a wonderful history and played a significant role in the country’s ancient past, being home to major events that changed British religion. Enveloped by 125 acres of grounds and award winning gardens, this is possibly one of the most magnificent places to stay in England.

Hever Castle has recently been awarded with a Five Star Gold for Guest Accommodation and Breakfast Award, the highest possible rating and accolade achievable.

There is so much to explore and discover at the castle, this is no ordinary hotel break, it’s a breathtaking experience. As well as being able to enjoy guided tours and visit exhibitions, you can play a round of golf or two on the course, which sits within the Hever Castle Estate itself.

The rooms at Hever Castle offer luxury, 5 star bed and breakfast in the Edwardian Wing, which replicates Tudor design to match the earlier parts of the building. Each of the 28 bedrooms are unique in style and have features such as panelled walls, chaise longue, leaded windows, four poster bed or a roll top bath. Original aspects fused with more contemporary comforts create a perfect match for a luxurious stay.

Retire to the Music room, where you can lose yourself in a book and learn more about the history of the castle. Or maybe you prefer a game of billiards or tennis.

There is also a beautiful four bedroom holiday cottage, which boasts a Five Star Gold rating by Quality in Tourism. Medley Court was built in 1903 and stands against the picturesque backdrop of the castle and gardens. Children can lose themselves in a wonderful world of excitement with the incredible puzzle mazes and adventure playground whilst the adults explore the stunning, 38 acre lake at Hever Castle. The Italian Loggia and Japanese Tea House let you get up close to the lake and relax among nature.

We stayed at Hever Castle last night and had a wonderful time. The accommodation is splendid, the staff perfect and the breakfast delicious! All of this plus the wonderful Hever Castle (and dinner at The Wheatsheaf) and it all adds up to a fabulous night.

My wife & I had a one night stay here, which also gave us admission to the castle & gardens. It was wonderful, A real suite with separate bed and sitting rooms (each with own TV, wardrobe, hairdryer). Great service, excellent breakfast and all in the setting of one of England’s most interesting castles.
