The Esplanade, Newquay

Notorious for its epic waves and famous surfing competitions, why not try it for yourself. Novice? The Quiksilver Surf School is on site, catering for beginners upwards – and guests of The Esplanade receive discounted lessons. Phew.

With two fantastic dining options, you’ll be spoilt for choice – and so will your kids. Kick back in plush bucket seats at the Pebbles Bar for a light lunch. Kids menus available too. And if you want to make the most of that glorious seaside sun, head for the terrace and dine al fresco – naturally. There’s also the fantastic Cove Restaurant. Head Chef Julie Remphry is passionate about creating simple, flavoursome combinations packed with the best local produce from land and sea. Offering an extensive à la carte menu, plus daily specials and a fun kids menu, there’s something for everyone. And as its name suggests, you get to enjoy more sea views while devouring all that delicious food. Just make sure you get to dine at sunset at least one of the evenings. It’ll be worth it, we promise.
