Since the 1960s, The Coniston Estate has belonged to the Bannister family and the historical Conison Hall stands on the banks of a glistening lake. Within the estate is the 70-bedroom hotel, an award-winning Spa, The Coniston Shooting Ground and the Coniston Off-Road Centre.

In addition to the shooting ground and the off-road centre, there are a number of other activities available at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa including fishing, cycling, walking and more. The 24 acre lake is fully stocked with brown trout, perfect for fly fishing, and there is also a 1.5 mile stretch of the River Aire that is available. Guests can hire boats to take out onto the lake.

The state-of-the-art Coniston Spa is perfected located above the lake, with views across the estate. Facilities include a 15m indoor swimming pool, thermal suite, gym, fitness studio, 8 spa treatment rooms, relaxation areas and a stunning outdoor infinity edge pool. In 2018, The Coniston Spa was awarded Best Country Retreat at the Good Spa Guide Awards.
