Inside, The Baron is full to the brim with adorable quirks. Formerly a working farm, the inn has remained sympathetic to its past and retains many of its original features. Chunky wooden beams and an 18th century cider press and millstone dominate the restaurant. Menus here change with the seasons, offering hearty dishes that show off the wonderful flavours of the local produce. Overlooking the garden, both the conservatory and restaurant let you enjoy great food in a peaceful setting.

The owners have put their own stamp on this Shropshire accommodation, with contemporary and stylish design. As well as the five rooms at the inn, there are three Luxury Garden Rooms. These individual lodge-style rooms feature their own private hot tubs and are designed for adults only.

A natural swimming pond is located in the garden and can be accessed from each of the Garden Rooms. These open-plan rooms have super kingsize floating beds, wet room, seating area and an outdoor deck with sun loungers.

There are several cosy spaces at the inn for eating and drinking, and the lounge bar serves a wide selection of gins and cocktails. You’ll also find a dog-friendly bar, perfect for enjoying a drink or two after a day outdoors with your furry friend.

The moment you step inside The Baron, you’ll sense that the inn is family run owing to its relaxed atmosphere and attentive service you receive throughout your stay.

The Baron is situated in the sleepy village of Bucknell, just 10 minutes’ drive from the medieval town of Knighton. The popular market town of Ludlow can also be reached by car within 20 minutes.
