Waingates Farm has taken luxury glamping holidays in Yorkshire to the next level with their bespoke shepherds’ huts with hot tubs, fire pits, gas BBQs, a wood burning pizza oven and private outdoor seating areas. Enveloped on all sides by wildlife that freely roams the estate, this is a divine setting for spying on owls, deer, foxes and hares. Whatever the weather, this is one adult only glamping retreat you’ll want to return to in any season.
Spend evenings toasting marshmallows over the fire pit or cosied up in your own wood-fired hot tub sipping on a glass of bubbles with nothing but the sweet sounds of nature to rouse you from your reverie.
Each of the three shepherds’ huts is elegantly designed with calming colour schemes that have been inspired by the natural beauty of the landscape. Snuggly double beds are piled high with cushions and throws, and fresh flowers and plants breathe life into the huts. The cute little table for two provides an alternative to al fresco dining in the colder months, but there’s nothing to stop you from lighting the wood-burner, popping on the underfloor heating, opening the doors and feasting with the starlit sky in view.
Within a 15 minute drive, you can explore many of the local villages and the spa town of Harrogate, or add another 15 minutes to your journey to reach the cities of York and Leeds. You’d be surprised at what you can fit into a shepherd’s hut, and with all the facilities you need for a self catering stay, Waingates Farm Huts certainly pack a punch. As well as featuring a double or king size bed, fully equipped kitchen, ensuite shower room and a dining area, there are also some pretty special extras that add a little more luxury.
The huts are set within a private garden where a wood-fired hot tub, firepit, BBQ and seating area await you. Or why not enjoy a shared evening with friends in the communal entertainment space with a designer Danish cast iron Morso wood burning pizza oven. Inside, you can also tick off the wood burner, underfloor heating, Nespresso machine, TV/DVD and high speed Wi-Fi from your wish list.
