Seaham Hall is a 17th century building and has been transformed from a historic icon into a contemporary hotel, featuring 21 of the most luxurious suites, delicious dining and a simply perfect award-winning spa, thanks to a £2 million upgrade.

Seaham Hall began life as a medieval manor house, and the original structure can still be seen today.  In 1791, it was rebuilt and went on to be the home of the poet Lord Byron, who was married here.  It then enjoyed a rich history during the present century when it became a military hospital during World War I, played a key role in US Prohibition, a TB Sanatorium and latterly a medical centre.

This beautiful building now perfectly combines Georgian charm with modern flair and vast quantities of chic style. Seaham Hall’s motto ‘luxury liberated‘ is embodied in every inch of the hotel, from the contemporary design to the supreme comfort of all the facilities.

Dining at Seaham Hall is a notable experience with the rugged views of the North Sea teamed with the relaxed, friendly and somewhat quirky atmosphere. Chef Damian Broom of The Dining Room restaurant sources the finest ingredients right from his own doorstep to present a varied and tasty seasonal menu drawn from the beloved local region. Alternatively, ‘Ozone Restaurant’ is a haven for lovers of traditional Eastern cuisine, offering a vibrant dining experience and serving authentic Pan-Asian cuisine in a relaxed and informal setting.

Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall is alluring and totally irresistible.  There are quirky snail showers, a 20-metre pool with massage stations, sanarium, an ice fountain, a hammam and hydrotherapy pool – just to name a few.  For ultimate relaxation, spend time in the Zen Garden with a hydrotherapy infinity pool with cocoon pods. All of this is set in contemporary elegance and chic style, and is the perfect tranquil retreat.   There is a state-of-the-art fitness suite, and an aerobics studio, as well as 17 individual treatment rooms offering a euphoric selection of holistic and wellbeing treatments.  The rooftop garden is the ideal place to relax after much needed pampering.

Brand new for 2023, enjoy a blissful break in the Serenity Spa’s Rooftop Bar – the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink or a glass of bubbly during your rejuvenating spa day.

We spent 4 nights in a lovely room with a hot tub and could have easily stayed for longer.  The hotel is to a high standard and the views and grounds are beautiful.  A short walk to the beach and then back for a cocktail on the patio, whilst planning your next trip to the spa is just what we needed!
