The Eastbury in Dorset
Hiding in a quiet corner of the market town, The Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne is a one-of-a-kind townhouse that leaves other luxury hotels in Dorset behind. Its red-brick frontage is deceptive as the rear of the hotel is more akin to a country house.
Sherborne is the kind of place you could imagine finding in a picture book. The town is speckled with independent shops, and narrow streets meander among ancient buildings – making it very easy on the eye and a wonderful place to explore. Sherborne Abbey dominates the skyline with its imposing architecture, and just on the fringes of the town, you’ll find two historic castles set inside beautiful gardens.
Inside The Eastbury Hotel, the concoction of styles is surprising; Georgian and contemporary design rub shoulders while colourful artwork flirts with exposed stone walls. There are lots of little nooks and crannies dotted around, inviting you to share cosy chats and a few drinks.
Step outside into the enchanting walled garden that’s so typically English with its leafy trees and manicured lawns. At the bottom of the garden, you’ll discover a romantic dining pod resembling Cinderella’s carriage, where you can celebrate that special occasion with your loved one.
