Yorkshire Dales Restaurants and Pubs
In our opinion, Hipping Hall in Kirkby Lonsdale is one of the best of the Yorkshire Dales restaurants. It describes itself as a restaurant with a room owing to the strong emphasis that is placed on its excellent food and wine. The award winning 3 AA Rosette restaurant is located in the Grand Hall, which is filled with original features. Sample rustic flavours from the seven-course tasting menu, including locally sourced produce such as veal and seabass, or enjoy delicacies from the table d’hote.
The Devonshire Arms is a striking country house hotel in Bolton Abbey and plays host to the Burlington Restaurant, which provides an elegant dining experience and serves up local and seasonal produce of meat and game, sourced from the estate, and herbs and vegetables from the kitchen gardens. You can also enjoy something to eat and drink in the Devonshire Brasserie and Bar, which presents a swanky environment where you can unwind.
Pubs in the Yorkshire Dales
Arguably one of the best pubs in the Yorkshire Dales, The Bull at Broughton is a Ribble Valley Inn and the menus are inspired by the Michelin Star chef Nigel Haworth. In summer, customers can immerse themselves in al fresco dining or in winter, chill out in front of the roaring log fire inside. Dishes are created using fresh produce and take inspiration from the local traditions but they are also given a contemporary twist. Whenever possible, local suppliers are used and only the finest ingredients are ever put into the dishes, all accompanied by quality wines.
Another of the great Yorkshire Dales restaurants and pubs is The Brasserie at the Courtyard in Settle, which successfully blends modern and classical. Relax into the slower pace of the Dales whilst appreciating the contemporary ambience of the Courtyard. You can select from classic British dishes or if you prefer to try something a little different, opt for one of the European dishes.
