Wrapped inside private manicured gardens that sweep down to the River Derwent, in the lively market town, The Talbot at Malton has a traditional country house feel. Dating back to the 17th century, the building was once a hunting lodge and is filled with history.

A soon as you step over the threshold, you are greeted with warm Yorkshire hospitality. There is a real air of tranquility here and from the moment you arrive, you are eased into relaxation. Picture cream tea by the open fire and whisky in the drawing room, a great way to escape for a while.

Malton has become known as the Food Capital of Yorkshire and each year it hosts the fabulous Malton Food Tour. Being so passionate about food and focusing heavily on providing a great foodie experience, it’s no surprise The Talbot has become synonymous with the Malton Food Lover’s Festival. Having worked for Michael Roux Jr, Head Chef Dan Graham creates dishes that take you on an exciting culinary journey.

Malton is a historic market town, listed as one of the Best Places to live in the UK in the Sunday Times, and is a much-loved base for exploring North Yorkshire. With so many inspiring attractions to visit right on the doorstep, The Talbot at Malton is a wonderful place to stay.

Bedrooms at the hotel are elegant with traditional style and modern luxuries. Four poster beds, roll top baths and pretty garden views invite you to unwind in your very own oasis of calm.
