This truly is one event that caters for even the most eclectic musical taste.
There are 20 different venues available at the Jazz Festival, ranging from marquees, intimate pub settings to bandstands and all of which are within walking distance of each other. There are no limits on what you watch either – you can see as many performances as you’d like, in whichever venue you choose. The tickets available for the event don’t just cover the three days either, if you can only make one of the days, you can buy individual tickets.
Expect to see some of the greatest names in the business at this festival and with new bands being booked all the time, you never know who you may be watching. Some of the big international names that have played at the festival include Clare Teal, The Bratislava Hot Serenaders, The Darius Brubeck Quartet, Baraka, Sticky Wicket & His Swing Orchestra and Budapest Ragtime Band to name just a few.
This incredible festival began back in 1986 and has been a hit ever since. The first ever festival took place in the town hall with just a group of 20 people and has now turned into a successful event with 100 acts booked yearly. People come from all over to this quaint market town to enjoy a host of musical delights.
