Set among a picturesque backdrop near Winchester in Hampshire, Grange Park Opera 2016 is a much loved, professional opera company founded by Wasfi Kani in 1998. Throughout the months of June and July, the company puts on spectacular performances at its annual festival held at The Grange, a 19th century Greek revival house.
The Grange is a neo-classical mansion just seven miles from the city of Winchester and is a strikingly beautiful building, which has won numerous awards.
The opera company has gained a prestigious reputation and The English Chamber Orchestra is the resident orchestra. Past performances have seen famous singers such as Alfie Boe and Bryn Terfel take centre stage, while the company has a repertoire that has included Handel’s Rinaldo, Messager Fortunio and Richard Strauss’ Capriccio. Each summer visitors can be amazed by world class performances, with Fiddler on the Roof, La Boheme and Samson et Dalila in the pipeline for 2015.
The under 30s can take advantage of discounted tickets, and there are free tickets for people aged between 14 and 25. The location is ideal for dining, picnics, afternoon tea and champagne.
