The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual motoring garden party held on the immaculate Goodwood Estate. Best known for its iconic hill climb, the event sees historic cars and motorbikes from the past 100 years take on the challenge to climb the gravity defying hill. The Festival will start with the Moving Motor Show on 23rd June 2016 and will encompass four action packed days of glamorous racing machinery and world renowned racing drivers.
The hill climb will begin from the southern corner of the Goodwood Estate and spans for 1.16 miles past Goodwood House and up a steep, narrow road towards the spectacular South Downs, where the famous Goodwood racecourse is located. Rising over 300ft during the race, the course puts the skills of even the greatest drivers to the test and takes immense concentration and speed to complete.
Each year the lawn in front of Goodwood House sees an outstanding transformation for the event by being adorned by a remarkable sculpture. Last year, Mercedes-Benz featured in the sculpture when the event celebrated 120 years of achievement in motor sport and 100 years since completing the 1914 French Grand Prix in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Goodwood have three special packages available for entry to the event, to make your visit even more special. However, tickets may also be purchased individually, please visit the website for more information:
