The meeting of 1950s nostalgia and top class racing returns again this year for the August Bank Holiday Weekend at Goodwood Racecourse. Reminiscent of a summer holiday from back in the day, this classic event has something for everyone whether you’re looking for an exciting night out for you and your friends or some family fun with the kids.
With three days of 50’s fun, jeans and shorts simply won’t do! It’s all about dreamboats and petticoats at Goodwood, so get dolled up in your swing skirts and lace gloves or feel like a dapper chap with your hair slicked back and your double breasted jacket.
The highlight of the event will be the Group 2 Betfair Celebration Mile. Open to horses aged over three years, this challenging race is a mile long and is sure to create a buzz around the racecourse. The race will feature some of the finest competitors with the very best usually going on to compete in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
In keeping with the traditional theme, authentic entertainment and a funfair will be available to keep the children entertained. Like something straight out of a seaside postcard, the fair will feature everything from a Helter Skelter to the Hall of Mirrors, and the scene wouldn’t be complete without a re-creation of the beach front itself, with beach huts and sandcastles. Not only is all this available free of charge, children can enter the event for free when accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are great value for money, and children under 18 can access the event free of charge. There are also family and champagne packages on offer to help you make the most of this fantastic event. To find out more about tickets and to start planning for the event, please visit the following link:
