The captivating contrasts of Devon make it one of the most loved counties in England. There are endless places to see and things to do in Devon, from exploring the distinctive countryside to discovering its culture and history.
Throughout the year, adrenaline junkies head to the beaches while less daring travellers take part in gentler pursuits such as horse riding or walking. There are also countless galleries, majestic castles that overlook coastal views and historic houses that let you delve into the heritage of Devon. If you are a wildlife lover there are plenty of farms and animals to see as well as the National Marine Aquarium, which is the largest of its kind in the UK.
For anyone with children seeking some of the best places to visit in Devon, why not enjoy a day at one of the theme parks or zoos? Alternatively, you might want to take them to one of the most popular attractions in Devon – Crealy Adventure Park in Exeter.
Places to Visit in Devon
Among some of our favourite things to do in Devon are the Bicton Gardens, which are located in Otter Valley to the east of the county. Here you can explore over 60 acres of land that are brimming with water features, nature trails and incredible wildlife. Becky Falls Woodland Park in Dartmoor is another attraction we suggest visiting, and it has been voted as the most beautiful place in Devon. This spectacular waterfall is closely rivalled by Canonteign Falls in Teign Valley, which is one of the tallest in England and is set within 80 acres of woodland.
