Widely regarded as the UK’s largest and most prestigious gardening event, Harrogate Flower Show is taking place on the 25-28 April. Designers, landscapers, garden experts and horticultural organisations will come from all over to create floral displays and are on hand to teach you everything you need to know about how to craft the perfect garden. Situated in the ever so beautiful Harrogate amongst rolling green hills and the Yorkshire countryside, there really couldn’t be a more perfect setting for this gardening extravaganza.
At this spring-inspired event you will find an array of marquees, large scale displays, demonstrations, exhibits and works of floral art. What’s more 2013 sees a demonstrational taking place at the Harrogate Flower Show where guests are invited to roll up their sleeves and partake in a little gardening themselves. Putting your skills to the test, you can have a go at laying turf, planting a garden border, building an area of block paving and creating a traditional Yorkshire dry stone wall.
Visitors can also look forward to a battle of the gardeners as more than 100 leading plant nurseries will be taking part in the competition to see who can create the most innovative displays. This year looks set to be quite an exciting challenge indeed.
The Kitchen Garden Live team will also be in attendance at this flowery event, to give insightful talks and advice on environmental and climate issues in order of instructing you how to grow fruit and veg in your own back garden. The event also sees hundreds of garden related crafts, accessories, gifts and products to purchase, plus there are plenty of eatery opportunities so you certainly won’t go hungry during your time here.
